The Simpsons will air its 600th episode in October

Lengthy-running US sitcom The Simpsons is to broadcast its first hour-long episode subsequent 12 months.

It is going to be the primary time the half-hour animated collection has expanded to a full hour, Fox stated on Monday.

Government producer Al Jean joked in a press release: “I simply pray it will not be the very last thing individuals see earlier than a Trump inauguration.”

Taraji P Henson, who performs Cookie on Fox’s Empire, and actor and comic Keegan-Michael Key will visitor star.

Henson will voice the function of Praline, the previous spouse of a music mogul who has conned Mr Burns into chapter 11.

Key will play Jazzy James, who joins Praline, Homer and Bart to assist Mr Burns get his revenge.

The episode, which can exit in January within the US, can be titled The Nice Phatsby, a play on The Nice Gatsby.

The Simpsons begins its 28th season on 25 September.

Earlier this month, Marge and Homer Simpson were seen agreeing to vote for Hillary Clinton within the forthcoming US election in a video clip.

Republican candidate Donald Trump is seen with a replica of a e book known as Nice Speeches by A Hitler within the video.

When Homer indicators that he may vote for Trump, Marge says: “If that is your vote, I query whether or not I can ever be with you once more.”

Homer replies: “And that is how I turned a Democrat.”
