GlaxoSmithKline names Emma Walmsley as chief govt

GlaxoSmithKline has chosen Emma Walmsley, its present head of shopper healthcare, as its new chief govt.

Ms Walmsley, who joined the UK’s greatest drugmaker in 2010 from L’Oreal, will change Andrew Witty subsequent 12 months.

Mr Witty had beforehand introduced he would retire in March 2017.

GSK chairman Philip Hampton mentioned there had been “a really thorough and rigorous world choice course of” for the position, including that Ms Walmsley was “an excellent chief”.
